PITTSBURGH – UPMC is recognized on the national stage once again for its clinical expertise, as one of only 20 hospitals nationwide included on the annual U.S. News & World Report “Best Hospitals” Honor Roll.
“This marks the 18th year UPMC has been named to the Honor Roll and we couldn’t be more proud of our physicians, nurses and other clinical specialists and support teams, who are dedicated to providing this level of care for our patients and their families each and every day,” said Leslie C. Davis, senior vice president of UPMC, and executive vice president and chief operating officer of UPMC’s Health Services Division.
The announcement of UPMC’s inclusion on the U.S. News & World Report “Best Hospitals” Honor Roll comes weeks after Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC was named to the U.S. News & World Report “Best Children’s Hospitals” Honor Roll for the eighth consecutive year.
“The clinical excellence and patient care expertise that UPMC offers is made even greater through our close affiliation with one of the best medical schools in the country, the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, as we continue to work together to advance scientific research that leads to innovation in many specialties,” said Steven Shapiro, M.D., executive vice president and chief medical and scientific officer at UPMC and president of the Health Services Division.
