WHAT: UPMC Mercy will celebrate World Day of the Sick with a special Mass led by Bishop David Zubik. The Mass occurs on the feast of Our Lady of Lourdes, and Pope Francis extends a blessing to all those who are ill and the people who care for them.
WHY: This year marks the 24th annual World Day of the Sick, a day meant to recognize and honor those who work in health care while praying for the alleviation of human suffering around the world.

• UPMC Mercy patients, visitors, physicians, nurses and other caregivers
WHEN: 12 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 11
