Sleep problems are common and in many cases can be resolved with lifestyle changes, including:

  • Cognitive-behavioral therapy (talking with a counselor)
  • Medication

If lifestyle changes do not address your sleep issue, or, if based on your discussion with your doctor, your health history, and physical exam it is determined that you may have sleep apnea, you may have to use a machine that can help you to breath more deeply when you sleep.

You may be referred to a sleep testing facility for additional sleep monitoring.
