Tips to Help You Get the Most From Your Prescheduled or Walk In Visit

  • Prescheduled appointments are available during certain hours, seven days a week.
  • Please do not schedule more than one appointment on the same day for the same person and condition.
  • Only one prescheduled appointment time will be honored for the same patient on the same day.
  • Patients who preschedule an appointment will be seen as close as possible to their scheduled time, regardless of patient arrival time.
  • Arriving early for a prescheduled appointment may not expedite care.
  • Patients arriving too late for a prescheduled appointment may be considered a walk-in visit.
  • Walk-in patients are welcome at any time.
  • Walk-in patients are generally seen in the order they arrive.
  • Some patients may be seen ahead of others based on their medical needs.
  • Prescheduling an appointment online is not available at UPMC Urgent Care locations in central Pa. and western Maryland.

Seasonal Vaccination

The COVID-19 vaccine will be available at UPMC Urgent Care locations starting in Fall 2024 for people, age 12 and older. UPMC Urgent Care will not administer a COVID-19 vaccine for patients under age 12. If you would like to receive a COVID-19 vaccine before Fall 2024, please contact your medical provider. COVID-19 vaccines help lower the risk of serious complications, including hospitalization and death. UPMC recommends the 2023-2024 seasonal vaccination for everyone. This recommendation is in line with the most recent federal guidance from the FDA and CDC.

For children, parents or guardians should speak with their pediatrician or a UPMC Children’s Community Pediatrics office for options on scheduling. Children under 5 years old should receive all their doses from the same vaccine manufacturer, if feasible.

COVID-19 Testing at UPMC Urgent Care

UPMC Urgent Care offers highly accurate laboratory testing with results that often are available the same day. Testing is available for symptomatic and asymptomatic patients. Just walk-in or schedule an appointment here.

COVID-19 test without a written referral or written order

If you do not have a referral or written order for a COVID-19 test, one of our staff can order the test for you. Medical evaluations are provided for ‘walk-in’ patients during regular business hours, first come-first served.

Contact UPMC Urgent Care staff for more information about COVID-19 tests.
