Diabetic Foot Ulcers​

People with diabetes are at greater risk for developing a number of complications, including:

  • Poor blood circulation
  • Loss of nerve function
  • Weakened immune system

Foot ulcers and infections can be aggravated by diabetic complications including numbness that can lead to a wound on the bottom of the foot going unnoticed and untreated.

Diabetic foot ulcers, if not properly cared for, can lead to amputation. However, the majority of these amputations can be prevented if the wounds are treated by experts in wound healing.
