Orland Bethel

Orland Bethel made an endowed gift to the Ferguson Laboratory for Orthopaedic and Spine Research. The Orland Bethel Professorship in Spine Surgery will support the faculty member who holds the professorship, as well as spine research and other key academic initiatives in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery.

Gene and Marlene Epstein

After his brother’s heart transplant at UPMC and years of expert care for family members, Gene Epstein felt compelled to give back. He wanted to help change the lives of others in need of transplants. The Epsteins bequest honors L. Dade Lunsford, MD, and is in memory of Wesley Epstein.

Beth Howell

After an abrupt trip to UPMC Presbyterian to receive a double stent in her heart and losing a dear friend to heart complications, Beth and the Fraternal Order of Eagles felt compelled to give back. As of January 2021, Beth and the FOE have donated more than $101,000 to the UPMC Heart and Vascular Institute.
