Skills Course

If you are a clinician who is interested in completing our Shared Decision Making Skills Course, you can request enrollment via the Wolff Learning Academy. The course is interactive and includes the following modules:

  • The Six Steps of Shared Decision Making
  • When Would You Use SDM?
  • What’s Stopping You?
  • Listening for Patient Goals and Concerns
  • Practice the Conversation 
  • SDM With and Without Decision Aids
  • SDM Implementation: An Overview
  • Assessment of SDM Conversation Skills

Brief pre- and post-course questionnaires are included. Eligible participants who complete the course will earn 2 CME credits. For questions, visit Wolff Learning Academy or e-mail DecisionMaking@upmc.edu. Future training opportunities are still in development.
