UPMC Carlisle Food Services offers an exciting new Room Service model for patient meals that allows patients to make meal selections that meet their needs and their desired meal schedules during their hospital stay. Qualified professionals are available to discuss nutritional concerns, cultural, religious and ethnic food preferences.
Physician Diet Orders are interfaced with nutrition computer software to help guide dietary choices. A Registered Dietitian is available to assist with diet orders or questions with regard to appropriate menu choices as needed by the diet office, nursing, or hospitality associates.
Patients can select meals and call the Diet Office directly between 6:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m., and meals will be delivered within 45 minutes. Patients not able to order for any reason are identified by the hospitality associate or the nurse, and flagged in the nutrition computer system. Assistance will be provided during the hospital stay, or patients may be placed on a house menu with scheduled meal delivery times. Processes are also in place to accommodate patients requiring timely meals due to medication regimens.
If you have any general questions about meal service prior to your stay, please contact our call center, at 717-231-8900 between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. or pn_corpcontactcenter@upmc.edu and one of our customer service representatives would be happy to assist you.
