UPMC Chautauqua, a 317-licensed bed hospital, was chartered in 1885, is Southwestern New York's largest not-for-profit healthcare provider, offering an extensive range of inpatient and outpatient acute and rehabilitation services. In the Fall of 2016, UPMC began an affiliation with Chautauqua WCA which strengthens our hospital and community in many ways:
Our hospital is accredited by The Joint Commission, The American Association of Blood Banks, American Academy of Sleep Medicine, American College of Radiology, Inter-societal Commission for the Accreditation of Echocardiography Laboratories (ICAEL), CEO Roundtable on Cancer Gold Standard Employer for 2015, and approved by the American College of Surgeons (ACoS) Commission on Cancer (CoC).
We are located in Western New York and is a wonderful place to live and practice medicine. This area is a college community, which enjoys the presence of Fredonia State University. It is situated less than an hour away from Erie, Pennsylvania and Buffalo, New York. Pittsburgh and Toronto are only 2-1/2 hours away. Fredonia is near the renowned Chautauqua Institute, a major cultural center for the arts and music in Southwestern New York.
The numerous amenities of Lake Erie encompass miles of beautiful beaches and offers the perfect setting for boating, water skiing, wind surfing, sailing and fishing. There is an abundance of public and private golf courses, Alpine and Nordic skiing, hiking, fly fishing and close proximity to the philharmonic orchestras, ballet/dance companies, civic centers, fitness facilities and professional baseball, football and ice hockey.
