About UPMC Chautauqua

Chartered in 1885, UPMC Chautauqua is a 317-licensed bed hospital. We're southwestern New York's largest not-for-profit healthcare provider, offering an extensive range of inpatient and outpatient acute and rehab services.

In the Fall of 2016, UPMC began an affiliation with Chautauqua WCA which strengthens our hospital and community in many ways.

We aim to:

Meet Our Physician Recruiters

Katie Bool Shafer, MBA

Katie joined the UPMC Hamot physician recruitment team in 2017 and also recruits for other hospitals in UPMC's northern tier. She started her UPMC career in 2015 as a communications specialist in clinical marketing and community relations.

Katie is a member of the Association of Staff Physician Recruiters (ASPR).

Her degrees include a:

  • BA in communication studies.
  • MA in corporate communication.
  • MBA from Duquesne University.

Elizabeth Madurski

Elizabeth joined the recruitment team in 2019, recruiting doctors for UPMC Hamot as well as other hospitals in UPMC's northern tier.

She started her UPMC career in 2017 as a communications specialist in clinical marketing and community relations.

She earned a BA in broadcast journalism from Kent State University.
