Craig R. Stambaugh, SPHR, CPA, is the Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer, UPMC. Prior to that appointment, Mr. Stambaugh served as Vice President, Human Resources, Health Services Division and Hillman Cancer Centers, for UPMC, the largest employer in the state of Pennsylvania. Mr. Stambaugh has been with UPMC since 2007 and leads, through a team of over 600 HR professionals, all aspects of UPMC’s human resources function, including the growth of UPMC’s footprint through mergers and acquisitions. Previously, he served as Vice President, Talent Acquisition, UPMC, leading a team providing expert recruitment service and building a strong, values-based workforce and bringing aboard more than 30,000 new hires per year. Previously, Mr. Stambaugh served as Vice President, Human Resources, for the UPMC Corporate Services Division, working closely with UPMC corporate officials.
Before joining UPMC, Mr. Stambaugh served as Director, Human Resources, with Ariba, Inc., and as Human Resources Manager and Regional Manager of Recruitment for PricewaterhouseCoopers, after earning his Certified Public Accountant (CPA) accreditation as a Senior Associate at PWC.
Mr. Stambaugh earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Penn State University and is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and active in the community as Treasurer of the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership.
