Board certified in internal medicine and medical oncology, Priya Rastogi, MD, specializes in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of breast cancer at Magee-Womens Hospital of UPMC.
Dr. Rastogi serves as senior associate medical director and vice-chair for medical affairs with the National Surgical Breast and Bowel Project (NSABP) and as the protocol officer for phase II and phase III adjunvant and neoadjuvant breast cancer clinical trials. Conducting her own research with NSABP, Dr. Rastogi examined the risk of congestive heart failure in women who received the drug herceptin in combination with chemotherapy.
Dr. Rastogi is an assistant professor of medicine at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. She received her bachelor’s degree from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and her medical degree from Wright State University School of Medicine in Dayton, Ohio. She completed her internal medicine residency at Saint Joseph's Hospital in Denver, Colorado, where she received the Resident of the Year Award.
She is an associate member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Association for Cancer Research and has several abstracts and research articles in leading journals, including Journal of Clinical Oncology, Clinical Breast Cancer, Oncology, New England Journal of Medicine, Oncology Nurse Forum, Menopause, and Breast Cancer Research Treatment.
