Dr. Gary-Webb’s research program is divided into three defined areas: the social determinants of diabetes and obesity, interventions to improve diabetes outcomes for minority populations and translation of research findings to practice and real-world evaluation.
She has held leadership positions in several national organizations, including the American Diabetes Association, the American Public Health Association and the Council on Black Health.
Dr. Gary-Webb received her bachelor’s degree in biology from Pennsylvania State University. She received both her M.H.S. in epidemiology and her Ph.D. in epidemiology from Johns Hopkins University.
