Andrew Thomas Has the Distinction of Being the First Baby Born in Pittsburgh in 2016
Many ring in the New Year with champagne, but Erin Hamm and Michael Thomas celebrated by bringing a new life into the world. Andrew Thomas made his debut at Magee-Womens Hospital of UPMC at 12:05 a.m., crowning him the first Pittsburgh baby of the year.
The little boy weighs 8 pounds, 10 ounces and is 20 1/4 inches long. A few hours after Andrew was born, the nursing staff at Magee wheeled in a New Year’s baby package filled with baby goodies ranging from booties to bibs. The family is looking forward to spending more time with their newest bundle of joy.
