PITTSBURGH – UPMC has announced the appointment of Lisa Bryan-Morris, M.S.N., N.E.A.-B.C., R.N., as the new chief nursing officer and vice president, Patient Care Services, UPMC Passavant, effective Feb. 1.
Bryan-Morris succeeds Susan E. Hoolahan, M.S.N., R.N., N.E.A.-B.C., who recently was announced as the new president of UPMC Passavant.
“Lisa is known as a leader who inspires high performance,” said Hoolahan. “Her knowledge and expertise, paired with her caring, transformational style, will support UPMC Passavant’s continued exceptional outcomes in patient care quality and experiences.”
Bryan-Morris earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of Pittsburgh in 1997 and a Master of Science in Nursing from Waynesburg College in 2007.
She began her career with UPMC in 2000 and has steadily advanced, from a staff nurse to clinical director before joining UPMC Passavant in 2017 as the director of nursing. During her first year in the role, she obtained the Nursing Executive Advanced Certification (N.E.A.-B.C.). She serves as UPMC Passavant’s executive champion for the Human Rights Campaign’s Healthcare Equality Index. For the past five years, she has served as an executive coach for the UPMC Nursing Talent Round Up and has been instrumental in leading recruitment and retention of nurses, reducing turnover and significantly increasing the number of nurses advancing their careers.

Bryan-Morris is recruiting a new director of Nursing for UPMC Passavant to succeed her.
