WHAT: The McGowan Institute for Regenerative Medicine is hosting a free public panel to discuss the evidence-based medicine behind stem cell therapy. Although stem cells offer great promise, there are limitations on what they can do. This panel discussion will separate the hope from the hype

Registration is strongly recommended and can be done here.

WHY: A growing number of stem cell clinics are capitalizing on the hype of stem cell therapy, claiming to reverse age-related conditions, cure chronic illness and heal serious injuries. These tactics take advantage of medically vulnerable populations.

WHO: Anyone interested in learning more about stem cell therapy. No science background is necessary.

WHEN: 4 to 6 p.m., Tuesday, March 12

WHERE: University Club, University of Pittsburgh, 123 University Place, Pittsburgh, 15260.

Note to Media: To cover this event, pre-arrangements must be made by contacting Erin Hare at HareE@upmc.edu or 412-738-1097.
