WHAT: This presentation will provide an overview of diabetes and the effects of high blood sugar numbers and what they mean.

 

Light refreshments will be served. There is no fee, but registration is required. Register online or call 1-800-533-UPMC, option 4.

 

WHY: Knowing your blood sugar level helps you treat low or high blood sugar before it becomes an emergency. It also helps you know how exercise and food affect your blood sugar and how much short-acting insulin (if you take insulin) to take.
