WHAT: Pittsburgh Penguins’ Bill Guerin, Phil Bourque and Paul Steigerwald will host a newborn hockey draft at Magee-Womens Hospital of UPMC to celebrate the "It’s a Great Day for a New Baby" program. Newborns will be scouted for titles of “Best Hockey Smile,” “Eat-Sleep-Cry Hat Trick Specialist” and “Hottest Hands,” among others. Newborns will sport crocheted black and gold skates and caps, handmade by a Magee nurse.
The popular It’s a Great Day for a New Baby program is relaunching on July 1, and every baby born at Magee will receive a Penguins onesie, a hooded towel and washcloth set and a chalkboard that can be used to highlight a baby’s monthly milestones.
WHY: As the official women’s health provider of the Penguins, Magee is proud to collaborate with the Penguins organization to celebrate babies and families in and around Pittsburgh.
