WHAT: Ahead of its NeuroTrauma 2019 conference, the National Neurotrauma Society will welcome the Pittsburgh community to a free showcase that will highlight advancements in assistive technology, precision medicine, research and training.
The event is open to the public without registration and is supported by the UPMC Rehabilitation Institute, the UPMC Center for Assistive Technology, the University of Pittsburgh School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, the Clinical and Translational Science Institute, The Institute for Precision Medicine and the Safar Center for Resuscitation Research.
WHY: Assistive technology and neurotrauma research and training are changing rapidly, and all remain critical to a person’s recovery and life following a sudden injury to the brain or spine. The showcase will educate conference attendees, students of all ages and the public about the impact these fields have on function, community participation and quality of life for those dealing with neurotrauma.
