WHAT: UPMC Passavant Hospital, in conjunction with the UPMC Palliative and Supportive Institute, will offer a weekly bereavement support group to help those who have recently suffered a loss. The group will meet for six consecutive weeks between September and October, and each participant will receive a bereavement workbook. It would be beneficial to seek enrollment at least 3 months after the loss.

Registration should be made by Friday, Sept. 13 by calling 412-748-5899.
WHY: When a family member or friend passes away, it can be difficult to process and accept. Having a support system and professional assistance can help people to grieve and work through a difficult time.

WHO: People who have suffered a loss and are seeking support or guidance.

WHEN: 4:30 to 6 p.m., every Wednesday from Sept. 18 through Oct. 23

WHERE: Donor Hall, UPMC Passavant Hospital, 9100 Babcock Blvd., Pittsburgh, 15237.

Note to Media: To cover this event, pre-arrangements must be made by contacting Stephanie Stanley at StanleySL@upmc.edu or 412-586-9762.
