WHAT: UPMC East will host a free educational class about general vascular health, risk factors and treatment options for clogged blood vessels and arteries. Free screenings for vascular disease and light refreshments will be provided. Free parking will be available in the hospital garage.

WHY: Poor blood flow can affect virtually every part of the body including the eyes, heart, brain, kidneys and extremities. Preventive measures can decrease the risk of developing vascular problems like neuropathy, peripheral artery disease and varicose veins.

- Lindsey Haga, M.D., vascular surgeon, UPMC Heart and Vascular Institute, will discuss what you can do to reduce your risk of vascular disease.
