WHAT: Connor Buzzelli, a 22-year-old who sought treatment at UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital during his high school years, will again donate gifts to young patients who currently are hospitalized there. With the help of his family, hospital staff and donations from the community, Connor will deliver items on the children’s wish lists including toys, books, clothing and toiletries. Connor started this charity in 2014.

WHY: During his stay at the hospital, Connor noticed some kids were left feeling lonely during the holidays without a lot of support. With Connor's Crusade, he hopes to make the holidays brighter for these patients and raise awareness to end the negative stigma of mental health disorders.

WHO:

  • Connor and his mom unloading cars full of gifts
  • Beth Fulena, senior director of care management and social work at UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital

WHEN: 11 a.m., Friday, Dec. 21

WHERE: UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital, 3811 O'Hara St., Pittsburgh, 15213.
