PITTSBURGH, April 26, 2016 - UPMC physicians make up 78 percent of the Pittsburgh Magazine annual listing of Best Doctors, published in its May issue, available on newsstands now. The list is a selection of the region’s top physicians compiled by Best Doctors of America, Inc.
Of the 687 doctors who are named “Best Doctors,” 536 are UPMC doctors. Only those physicians who earn the consensus support of their peers and who meet additional qualification criteria are included.
“Once again, this independent validation and recognition of so many UPMC physicians as Best Docs reinforces the pride that we have in our devoted medical staff who deliver the absolute finest and most advanced care to our patients,” said Steven D. Shapiro, M.D., executive vice president, chief medical and scientific officer and president Health Services Division, UPMC.
