Magee’s Girls on the Run Program Hosts 5K Event

WHAT: Girls on the Run of Magee-Womens Hospital
, a 12-week program encouraging physical activity and positive life skills, will host a celebratory 5K event to mark the end of its season. Girls in grades 3 through 8 will run alongside friends and community members, and take part in pre- and post-run activities, including a visit from local mascots, music, games and a raffle.
The event is open to the public, and the cost of registration is $20 in advance and $25 on the day of the 5K. All runners receive an event shirt. To register or to view more information, visit the Magee Girls on the Run website
For 20 years, Girls on the Run International
has encouraged young girls. Volunteer coaches train all-girl teams of runners while promoting confidence, teamwork and community service. Magee’s Girls on the Run program has served more than 12,000 girls over 16 seasons.
