WHAT: To improve health and wellness of Pittsburgh’s immigrants and refugees, UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital’s Healthy Community will host a forum to connect immigrant and refugee communities with local agency leaders, community advocates and health care providers.
The program will include discussions on Magee’s care for immigrant and refugee women who have been sexually assaulted as well as cultural considerations and barriers to care in treating women who are experiencing depression related to their pregnancy.
WHY: Magee’s Healthy Community is a community-based outreach education program that teams with a wide range of groups to develop solutions and programs to address pressing health care issues and disparities.
