WHAT: UPMC St. Margaret will host two classes to help patients better manage their diabetes and improve quality of life. Topics include:
• Nutrition and meal planning
• Medications
• Monitoring and pattern control
• Being active
• Setting goals
• Travel tips
• Long term complications
• Sick days
• General health care
• Diabetes facts: Type 1 vs. Type 2
• Hyperglycemia (high blood glucose)
• Hypoglycemia (low blood glucose)
Insurance will be billed. Check with your insurance company to find out if you are covered. A prescription is required.

WHY: These sessions will explore the many resources available for anyone with diabetes. Participants will learn new information, find support and work toward goal setting during the class.
