WHAT: UPMC Mercy Outpatient Center at Green Tree is hosting a free open house to showcase its new facility. The center features treadmills, seated elliptical machines and steppers, bikes, upper body cycles and weight-lifting equipment with monitors for heart rhythm, blood pressure and other vitals. Attendees will learn about the benefits of cardiac rehabilitation.
WHY: Cardiac rehabilitation has physical, emotional and psychological benefits and can help reduce the chances of a second heart attack. This facility will bring care close to home for the residents in the South Hills region.
