WHAT: A UPMC physician will guide attendees through the key medical terms and options that will be encountered when completing an advance directive and facing end-of-life issues—including CPR, ventilators, tube feeding and blood transfusions—and answer any questions so attendees can complete their directives with confidence. Parking is free.
WHY: In the event of a serious injury or illness, an advance directive is vital to protect your wishes for medical treatment and end-of-life care. It also takes the burden of making such decisions from those who love you most.
WHO: Matthew Macken, M.D., family medicine resident, UPMC St. Margaret
WHEN: 10 to 11 a.m., Friday, April 15
WHERE: Lighthouse Pointe Village at Chapel Harbor, The River Room, 500 Chapel Harbor Dr., Pittsburgh, Pa., 15238
