WHAT: UPMC St. Margaret is offering free flu vaccinations to area residents age 65 and older and for individuals with chronic health conditions like asthma, diabetes, or heart and lung disease. No registration necessary. Additional free screenings include:
 
• Cholesterol (includes LDL, HDL, triglycerides)**
• Blood Sugar
• Bone Density
 
** 9-hour fast recommended

WHY: Flu season typically runs from September to February. Studies show that by receiving an annual flu shot you may be up to 60 percent less likely to need treatment for the flu.
