WHAT: UPMC St. Margaret will host a discussion on healthy meal ideas and cooking techniques to help manage diabetes. Participants will learn what food choices can help control blood sugar numbers. The program is free and open to the public. Prior registration is required by visiting UPMC.com/classes or calling 412-784-4194. Light refreshments will be provided and parking is free.
WHY: The Mediterranean Diet incorporates the basics of healthy eating, contains nutrients that are known to enhance longevity and has other health benefits backed by scientific studies. Learning about this diet can help those with diabetes manage their condition and take steps to improve their quality of life.
