WHAT: Members of Pine Richland Girl Scout Troop #52483 used the proceeds from their annual cookie sale to purchase toys for the UPMC Mercy Trauma and Burn Centers. The troop will visit UPMC Mercy to present their donation to the unit staff.
WHY: UPMC Mercy has been providing comprehensive burn care services for children since 1967, and the Burn Center will celebrate its 50th anniversary next year. As pediatric burn patients recover, interactive toys double as physical therapy while keeping their minds active. Support from Troop #52483 will ensure that all pediatric patients who visit the UPMC Mercy Trauma and Burn Centers will benefit from this treatment.
