Inpatient Hospice Care

Inpatient hospice care can take place in a hospital, skilled nursing facility, or inpatient hospice unit. Family Hospice operates two inpatient hospice units, one in the city of Pittsburgh and the other in Williamsport, Pa.

The staff on our inpatient hospice units provide round-the-clock expert treatment of uncomfortable symptoms that cannot be managed successfully at home. The stay on the inpatient units is generally short-term. An interdisciplinary team, including palliative care certified physicians, nursing, counselors, and volunteers cares for our guests and families around the clock.

These units are open to visitors 24 hours a day, seven days a week and offer a peaceful, home-like environment.
