COVID-19: Safety, Testing, News Alerts, and More
The Innovation Center and Orthopaedic Program at Magee-Womens Hospital of UPMC has been recognized for its ongoing efforts to promote patient- and family-centered care (PFCC) by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) on its new web resource for health care professionals – the Health Care Innovations Exchange.
Magee was chosen for the implementation of its patient- and family-centered care (PFCC) initiative. Magee’s Innovation Center provides consultation to health care professionals to assist with a variety of process improvements in support of PFCC. The PFCC aims to provide solutions that improve the quality of care delivered, safety, efficiencies, and patient experiences while critically examining the whole process from the patient's and family's perspective.
The PFCC program, which was piloted with orthopaedic patients who received total joint replacements, is being implemented throughout various areas throughout Magee and the UPMC system.
