Specializing in the genetic risk for breast and ovarian cancers, Paniti Sukumvanich, M.D., assistant professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, is at the forefront of treatment in gynecologic and breast oncology. A specialized surgeon with advanced training in women’s cancers, Dr. Sukumvanich treats patients at Magee-Womens Hospital of UPMC, a nationally recognized center for the treatment of women’s cancers.
Dr. Sukumvanich’s research focuses on the genetic causes of ovarian and breast cancers, as well as cancer informatics research, the science of analyzing large amounts of cancer information.
Dr. Sukumvanich obtained his medical degree at the State University of New York at Buffalo, followed by a residency at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Dr. Sukumvanich completed fellowships at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York.
