WHY: According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 1 in 4 women die from heart disease in the United States. In recognition of American Heart Month, it is important to learn about the risk for heart disease and take action to fight it. UPMC and the American Heart Association are partnering to raise awareness about the risks of heart disease.
WHAT: Several locations will hold free screenings to show their support for the fight against heart disease in women and help raise awareness of the Go Red for Women® campaign on Friday, Feb. 3, which is National Wear Red Day®.
