Magee to Host Annual Neonatal Intensive Care Patient and Family Reunion

WHAT: A reunion for children who have beaten the odds. A celebration of survival and quality of life for more than 350 former Magee-Womens Hospital of UPMC Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) patients, their families and the nursing and clinical staff who cared for them. The event is presented by Giant Eagle.
 
WHY: The NICU Reunion supports activities of the Parent Advisory Council to the Magee NICU. The parent group, composed largely of parents whose children were once NICU babies, focuses on education and comfort for current parents of NICU babies.
 
WHO:
 
• 350 former Magee NICU graduates currently ranging in age from 4 months to teenage years
• Magee NICU nursing and clinical staff
• Family members
• Zoo animals
 
WHEN: Sunday, June 12
 
• Media is invited to attend from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.
• Reunion photo to take place at 1 p.m. at the Garden Tent
 
WHERE: Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium, Garden Tent, located next to the education building. The entrance path is across from the Carousel.
 
Note to Media: Enter through the Zoo Education Complex located at 1 Wild Place. Zoo representative Haley Fiel, 412-554-0443, will escort you to the Garden Tent.
