WHAT: UPMC Cancer Center at UPMC Passavant will offer a non-invasive colon cancer screening program. The free screenings will include a FIT test kit (a more sensitive/easier stool test), bone density and blood pressure testing. In addition, healthy lifestyle education information will be available, including smoking cessation, nutrition and cancer prevention, as well as “Ask the Pharmacist.”
You qualify if you:
• Are 50 to 75 years of age.
• Have never had a colonoscopy, or have not had one in several years.
• Have any type of health insurance or have no health insurance.

WHY: Each year, an estimated 102,480 colon and 40,340 rectal cancers are diagnosed in the United States. Colon screenings can detect cancer at an earlier stage when it may be more treatable.
