How to ApplyThis virtual tour of our New Castle campus provides a quick look into student life at UPMC Jameson School of Nursing and is similar to what you would experience during our in-person campus tours.
The school was founded in 1895 at the Shenango Valley Training School, part of the 80-bed Shenango Valley Hospital, which first opened its doors in 1893. There was no separate building for the school, and the students were housed in the Hospital itself.
On May 1, 2016, Jameson Health System and the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) announced that Jameson merged in to the UPMC Network. UPMC Jameson now is officially established to deliver world-class health care for the residents of Lawrence County and its surrounding communities. The merger will provide the school of nursing with educational experiences that will assist our students in meeting their student learning outcomes.
