WHAT: UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital is hosting a free community lunch at resolve Crisis Services to educate the local community about access to whole body (mind + body) preventative health tools. Free hepatitis A vaccinations and education will be available along with crisis prevention resources.
WHY: Allegheny County has seen a 300% increase in hepatitis A cases—particularly in groups such as the homeless, IV drug users and methylsulfonylmethane users who pose high risks of contracting the disease. Proper education and vaccination can help reduce the spread of hepatitis A throughout the local community.
WHERE: Resolve Crisis Center, 333 North Braddock Ave., Pittsburgh, 15208.
WHEN: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, June 29
