 Anorexia and Bulimia Research Study

AN-BN cognition study

Volunteers needed for eating disorder research study.

What we'll study

Researchers at UPMC are conducting a study to better understand relations between cognitive function and eating disorder symptoms in adults with anorexia nervosa (AN) and bulimia nervosa (BN).

Who can participate

You may be eligible to participate if you:

  • Are between the ages of 18 and 55 years old
  • Have anorexia nervosa or bulimia nervosa (evaluation will be provided at no cost to you)
  • Are medically stable (evaluation will be provided at no cost to you)
  • Have no history of head trauma
  • Are not pregnant

How we'll conduct the study

Study participants will complete:

  • Interviews
  • Questionnaires
  • Computer tasks
  • Brain imaging scan

Computer tasks and brain imaging scan will be conducted on time at baseline. Interviews and questionnaires will be conducted three times at baseline and after 3 and 6 month follow-ups.

Participants can receive up to $375 for taking part in study activities.
