Your Appointment at the UPMC Center for Perioperative Care

Surgery and anesthesia can be stressful on the mind and body. Your recovery may be less stressful when you know what to expect beforehand.

Our goal at the UPMC Center for Perioperative Care (CPC) is to help you get ready for surgery.

Pre-op prep with the CPC can:

  • Help make sure you're as healthy as you can be before and after surgery.
  • Tailor a care plan to help you get ready for surgery.

What to Bring to Your Appointment at the CPC

Please bring:

  • Your health insurance cards.
  • A list of medicines you take.
  • Your doctors' names and phone numbers (surgeon, PCP, and heart or lung specialist).
