Before scheduling an appointment for an imaging test or procedure, contact your health insurance plan to see if they require a referral or pre-authorization. If so, your doctor will first need to obtain one from your insurance provider.
Please note, general x-rays are available on a walk-in basis only – you do not need an appointment. Patients bring their doctor's order and walk in to any UPMC Imaging Services location that offers x-rays.
To make an appointment, find an imaging services location that’s most convenient for you. Appointment times vary by the type of test you need.
Online scheduling is available for some imaging services.
Looking to schedule an annual screening mammogram? Now you can schedule online.
Did your doctor order a diagnostic mammogram, DXA scan, ultrasound, or CT scan? If you are a MyUPMC user, you can schedule these tests by logging into your portal account and clicking Schedule Appointment. If you have had a DXA scan in the past, you must schedule your next DXA scan at the same location.
