​Conditions We Treat at the Division of Internal Medicine

Our internal medicine physicians are specially trained to provide primary care for adult patients. They can provide treatment for most diseases and conditions in adults, including:

  • Addiction.
  • Allergies, sinusitis, and pharyngitis.
  • Arthritis and other joint and bone disorders and injuries.
  • Fibromyalgia.
  • Gastroesophageal reflux (GERD), ulcers, and infectious diarrhea.
  • Gender-affirming care.
  • High blood pressure, high cholesterol, coronary artery disease, and congestive heart failure.
  • Lung disorders, including:
    • Asthma.
    • Chronic bronchitis.
    • Emphysema.
  • Men’s health concerns, including:
    • Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).
    • Erectile dysfunction.
  • Primary care for adults with developmental disabilities and/or childhood-onset conditions.
  • Skin disorders.
  • Urinary tract infections, urinary incontinence, and kidney stones.
  • Women’s health:
    • Contraception.
    • Endocrine disorders that present more frequently in women, including osteoporosis and thyroid conditions.
    • Menopause.
    • Preconception planning.

Internal medicine physicians may treat conditions or refer patients to a specialist for treatment. An internal medicine physician can provide treatment or a referral for nearly every condition.
