Highlighting osteopathic learning and research, this conference serves as a means for AOA programs to complete the necessary requirements for ACGME accreditation or osteopathic recognition. The Quality & Improvement Symposium showcases selected Quality Improvement projects conducted by residents and fellows across UPMC. This symposium is held in the Spring season and supported by the Leadership, Education and Patient Safety GMEC subcommittee.
The UPME ME Professional Development subcommittee sponsors the annual UPME Chief Resident and Fellow Bootcamp which is designed to provide a transitional experience into the chief leadership role. Participants explore their own personal leadership style and strengths and opportunities as leaders, developing knowledge and appreciation of group and interpersonal behavior, and learning additional skills conducive to success and satisfaction as a clinician, educator, and leader in their impending chief role.
