Belonging, Social Impact, and Community Engagement

UPMC is committed to creating a culturally rich workforce where everyone is welcomed and empowered to be the best and true version of themselves. UPMC believes that a heterogeneous workforce of divergent cultures and backgrounds provides better patient care. UPMC has developed several resources to support our mission of creating a safe, belonging, and engaging environment to foster success and growth.

UPSTANDER training is built upon the framework of IQEE (Interrupt, Question, Educate, Echo) adopted with permission from the Learning for Justice project from the Southern Poverty Law Center. The learning aim for this training is to acquire actionable tools to promote a positive workplace culture and build a community of belonging.

Kneel for Unity & Justice

Kneel for Unity & Justice

Annual event as a demonstration against hate and injustice. We join together and kneel for 9 minutes and 29 seconds in solidarity (the anniversary of George Floyd's death commemorating an awakening across the world about injustice). The purpose of this event is to unify to advocate and fight for justice for all vulnerable communities. In these challenging times, it is our power in numbers that helps replenish our will and strength to fight.

Building Connections & Community Partnership Series

Building Cultural Connections & Community Partnership Series
