​UPMC Passavant Pavilion

The pavilion provides additional capacity for the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center at UPMC Passavant, emergency department, and surgical services, as well as additional intensive care unit beds, progressive care unit beds, and medical-surgical unit beds. As the first LEED-certified hospital addition in the North Hills, UPMC Passavant's pavilion is leading the way in environmentally sound construction. The pavilion features:

Main Entrance

UPMC Passavant Main Entrance Rendering

The main entrance of the hospital has been redesigned to improve patient flow. The entrance, which wraps around the hospital's signature glass atrium, provides access to both sides of the central registration area. Separate arrival and departure areas help to improve traffic flow.

  • Identical rooms - all 16 of the ICU rooms have the exact same layout; this improves patient safety, noise reduction, and family space

  • All rooms are Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant and feature three zones that have been built to accommodate the individual needs of the clinician, patient, and family
  • Spacious and comfortable waiting areas offering wireless Internet access, blankets, pillows, and food and beverage carts
