The Aging Institute of UPMC Senior Services and the University of Pittsburgh is a multidisciplinary team of experts in geriatrics — the branch of medicine dedicated to the care of older adults.
The UPMC Palliative and Supportive Institute and the Aging Institute collaborate to ensure that older adults receive the care and support they need to maintain active, vibrant lives. People who are interested in palliative and supportive care often find the Aging Institute to be a source of valuable advice, connections, and care resources.
The UPMC Palliative and Supportive Institute and the Aging Institute also work with other health care organizations to reduce avoidable hospitalizations and improve the quality of care for older adults. This collaborative effort, known as RAVEN, aims to reduce inappropriate health care spending while improving outcomes for residents of nursing facilities.
