The following information will help you prepare for your DXA scan.
If you have had an imaging study which required you to have X-ray contrast, please wait 7 days before having your DXA scan. Please refrain from taking any calcium supplements one day prior to your scan.
You should come to the imaging facility wearing comfortable, loose-fitting clothes that do not have any metal snaps or buttons. Our imaging staff will review your history prior to performing the scan. You may ask your technologist any questions about your study at this time.
