What to Expect During a Telemedicine Consult
During a telemedicine consultation or examination, a nurse or physician will be present to provide you with any required on-site care. You and your UPMC specialist will be able to see and hear each other via a telemedicine video chat.
Your UPMC specialist will ask you and your physician about your condition and symptoms and will have full remote access to your medical records and laboratory or imaging test results.
Your UPMC specialist will work with your on-site medical team to diagnose your condition and determine the most appropriate treatment plan for you. Your on-site medical team will carry out any necessary treatment or, if necessary, arrange for your care at another facility.
