UPMC is committed to investing in future health care professionals like you — financially, personally, and professionally — starting on day one of your career. From tackling student loans to advancing your career later in life, UPMC is the partner you need to succeed and thrive. Our team is here to help you to meet your short- and long-term career goals.

This is one reason why we encourage students enrolled in a health care education program to join the UPMC Float Pool.

You will apply classroom learning to real-life health care situations, plus have the opportunity to move among different hospitals to experience nursing in a number of units including the Emergency Department, Critical Care, Cardiac, Neurology, and Orthopedics.

What is the UPMC Float Pool?

The Float Pool offers a variety of nursing support staff opportunities to those looking for a career in nursing and nursing support, as well as for health care students seeking experience.
