Here at Shadyside, we want to provide helpful resources to help you transition from student to nursing professional.
Our Ambassador program at UPMC Shadyside School of Nursing pairs an exceptional second year nursing student with a first year student.
The second year student ambassador offers tips for success and important information about UPMC Shadyside's clinical sites.
This provides the first year nursing student with basic support and guidance as needed.
See the UPMC Schools of Nursing Ambassador Program Policy (PDF) to learn more.
The goals of SNAP are to introduce Shadyside School of Nursing students to a professional organization and promote leadership.

In the final semester of the Shadyside School of Nursing program, we pair students with professional nurses.
Students follow the nurse's schedule, and gradually take on more responsibility for patient care.
This valuable mentor program at Shadyside gives the student nurse time to grow in confidence and skill, while still having a well-trained nurse as a source of support.
